Florida’s civic ecosystem is under acute stress. The leaders sustaining it — disproportionately Black women, Latine, and queer advocates, organizers, and public servants — are burning out at rates that are not sustainable for the communities they serve.

Justice Over Everything exists to interrupt that cycle. We build leadership infrastructure, clinical wellness programs, and civic education systems that keep Florida’s most essential leaders in the work — and in it whole.

A clinically supervised civic wellness cohort for Black, Latine, and queer leaders in Florida’s civic sector. Grounded in the Harvard Flourishing Index (HFI) and the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI). Delivered in partnership with licensed mental health clinicians. Participants complete pre- and post-cohort assessments measuring burnout levels, civic engagement capacity, and leadership sustainability.Outcome Indicators: Burnout reduction (MBI), flourishing increase (HFI), sustained civic engagement, leadership retention.

Research and Diagnostics

RESEARCH & TOOLS · COLLECTIVE TRACK

JOE develops research-grounded tools and frameworks that help leaders and institutions name systemic harm accurately. This includes the Leadership Clarity & Burnout Diagnostic (free, self-administered), and applied research on identity-based burnout, emotional labor, and glass-cliff dynamics in civic leadership. Research Grounding: Conservation of Resources theory, multidimensional burnout models, Barboza-Wilkes et al. (2023), BIPOC mental health literature.

Organizational Diagnostic & Facilitation

Organization-wide burnout assessment, facilitated debrief, and structural recommendations. Identifies which leaders are most at risk and what systemic conditions are driving it. Frequently leads to cohort partnership or curriculum licensing.
